DeSantis Anti-Iran Amendment Included in Key National Security Spending Bill

Statement

Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06) issued the following statement after passage of H.R. 3219, the Make America Secure Appropriations Act, which included a DeSantis amendment prohibiting the use of funding to purchase heavy water from Iran, a practice utilized by the Obama administration:

"The United States should not use taxpayer money to subsidize Iran's dangerous nuclear activities through the purchase of heavy water. We must ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of the Obama Administration by enabling this Islamist regime. I applaud my colleagues for voting to put this prohibition into law and ending the flow of taxpayer dollars to the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism."
